Wednesday July 6, 2011 6PM-9PM
Janine Aquino, new owner of Camelot Cellars and fourth generation wine professional, is hosting a grand re-opening reception Wednesday July 6, 6pm-9pm. The evening will include live entertainment by Richard Lopez and hors d’oeuvres from Edible Columbus, Food Embrace and other local food purveyors. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase wine by the glass at special pricing and there will be a drawing for a Camelot Cellars Wine Making Experience valued at $200. The re-opening event is open to the public and valet service will be available for guests.
Camelot Cellars is currently open however the business is undergoing a radical transformation back to the essence of an authentic winery. The interior will soon reflect a vintage modern twist with Tuscan & French accents infused with local custom made tables & expanded wine bar. Retail offerings now include wine selections from around the world available for purchase by the glass, by the bottle and as your own handcrafted wine experience. Flights of wine are also available. Additional improvements include the winemaking lab, private wine tastings, and a larger event space.

Le Gamay Nouveau est Arrivé!

Once a year, on the third Thursday of every November, the region of Beaujolais, France celebrates the first fruits of its grape harvest with Beaujolais Nouveau, a young wine made from the Gamay grape. Large community festivals take place to mark another successful harvest. Camelot Cellars Winery is proud to be the only Central-Ohio Winery to be producing Gamay Nouveau in conjunction with France’s Beaujolais celebrations. Camelot Cellars Winery will be joining in the celebration with local French Social groups such as The French Alliance and The French Language Meetup Group.  Come to Camelot Cellars Winery on November 18th from 6:00 – 8:00PM and celebrate the grape harvest with this fresh, juicy and delicious wine. This wine is a bold purple-pink color and bursting with an amazing array of fruit aromas, while their low tannin levels make them extremely – sometimes perilously – drinkable when young. Drink Wine for a Schmittastic Beagle!

Anyone who knows Amy Schmittauer is probably just as familiar with her amazing beagle, Lucy. Lucy was diagnosed with Glaucoma last year and her condition has reached a point where medication isn’t going to keep her out of pain anymore and she needs to have surgery very soon.  For those who may be interested in contributing to her surgery costs, Amy is hosting a fundraiser at Camelot Cellars Winery in the Short North on Wednesday, November 30th. Please join us and have a glass (or two) of wine, knowing that you’ll be contributing to medical treatment that will save Lucy’s life. Once the goal of half the cost of Lucy’s surgery ($1000), any additional amount in contributions will go the the Franklin County Dog Shelter in an effort to help rescue dogs who are also in need of medical treatment.

The holiday season is upon us and it is time to celebrate with friends and family. The Winter Cranberry Holiday Dinner will be served by Laura’s Catering and made fresh from local ingredients. You will enjoy a Holiday Spiced Cranberry Soup, a Mixed Green Salad with dried cranberries, feta cheese and an orange vinagrette dressing.  The main entree’ will be a Cranberry Orange Sauced Fettuccini and a special Cranberry Dessert Surprise will round out this festive meal.

Venetian Masquerade Ball

The Masquerade Ball came to prominence in Renaissance Italy, especially in Venice. They were celebrations of important events. The elaborate masks were the hallmark of these public events.
In celebration of the New Year, Camelot Cellars will be holding a Venetian Masquerade Ball, December 31st, 2011 beginning at 10:00 p.m. Camelot Cellars will be featuring our signature Venetian wine, Valpolicella Classico at special glass prices that night.
A glass of bubbly at midnight will be part of the celebration along with Italian inspired appetizers. Guests will also have the opportunity to have their mask replaced and painted on their face by Leigh Ann Ehmann of Make You, LLC as part of their ticket.

Camelot Cellars will be hosting a fashion show fundraiser on the evening of Tuesday, January 17 to raise funds for Wish Upon a Wedding, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness and serious life altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation.
This evening of fashion will feature couture bridal designs by Anne Bowen, Badgley Mischka and Vera Wang. We aim to raise $2,500 or more to enable Wish Upon a Wedding to continue providing weddings and vow renewals to those in need. With Big Rock Little Rooster, Mukha Spa, Lisa Sullivan Events, Shannon Williams Photography, Brian Hawkins Styling, Laura’s Catering  and Rose Bredl

During Colors and Bottles events, burgeoning painters sip libations at swanky local spots as they paint under the guidance of working artists. During each scheduled class, each Dionysian initiate spends three hours crafting a 16” x 20” magnum opus using the materials provided, including six paints, an easel, and brushes individually breathed on by Bob Ross. Brush brandishers learn from a new local artist each month, modeling their compositions off of a painting selected by the artist or conceiving their own designs. Drunken Decadence – Mardi Gras At Camelot Cellars

February 21st, 2012 is Mardi Gras, the time to indulge in decadence.
This year Camelot Cellars has partnered with Sugardaddy’s Sumptuous Sweeties for a truly decadent wine tasting. Six Camelot Cellars locally crafted wines will be paired with six of Sugardaddy’s famous Blondes and Brunettes brownies for a decadent wine tasting. The Drunken Decadence tasting will be $20 per person which includes a complimentary string of Mardi Gras beads. Camelot Cellars winery will also offer its full menu of wines and small plates. Also, a Sugardaddy’s specialist will be on hand to answer your questions about their sweets and will have some of their famous products available for purchase.
Sugardaddy’s bakes all of their product fresh, every day. They are a local Columbus favorite, but nationally known.
